A.G. Russell Knives

Tommy Lee's Double Ground Boot Knife was designed to be slim and unobtrusive. The knife was produced by Paragon® Knives in Japan in the late 1990s and again just a few years ago. With the last production, the company ordered a substantial quantity to which they added handle scales and did the finishing here in the U.S. We have purchased the remainder of those unfinished knives and are offering them as kits to which you can add your own handle material.

This is a variation of Bob Loveless' stellar semi-skinner design as interpreted by knifemakers George Herron and Tommy Lee. It is offered on page 50 with black micarta-like handle scales.

The late Blackie Collins designed this mid-lock folder for Paragon. It features a 3-3/4" drop point saber ground blade of AUS-8 stainless steel at 57-59 Rc. Easy opening with either hand is achieved by using the oblong thumbhole.

In early 2002, we had the opportunity to purchase in Japan the remaining stock of several models produced for Paragon Knives. Paragon had a program in which they took designs by American knifemakers to Seki, Japan and produced very high quality knives. The original owner of Paragon lost the company and the new owner followed the same program. Earlier this year, we were offered the opportunity to again purchase remaining stock from Japan.

These two folders were designed for Paragon by Blackie Collins, one of the best-known knife designers in the U. S. Over the years he designed for Gerber®, Benchmark, Case®, Ontario, Meyerco®, and many other, perhaps less well known companies.
