Buck® built a hand-filling hunter, The Alpha, with laminated rosewood looking scales that allow the edges of the steel to help furnish a positive grip. This is a full sized knife measuring 8-3/4" from tip to butt. The 4-1/8" blade is 154CM, the steel of choice for custom knifemakers. It is heat-treated to a near perfect 58-59 Rc., by the heat-treater most used by custom makers, Paul Bos. We offer this hunter in two styles, a drop point blade and a gut-hook. The gut-hook was invented by Sid Bell, "The Alaskan Silversmith," who took his whittled model to Alaskan knifemaker Merle Seguine about 40 years ago. Buck's gut-hook is a somewhat different pattern and has been patented and trademarked. The "Zipper" has a near square shape and should be easier to sharpen, it also should cut hides of almost any thickness. Each knife ships with a genuine leather pouch sheath. Weighs 6.8 oz. These are knives for that man who wants a full size knife. We made a special buy and can give you a great value, really good knives at great prices. Made in the U.S.A.
