At the 2007 Blade Show®, the Kershaw® R.A.M. was voted Most Innovative American Design® by knife manufacturers and other related exhibitors. For 2009, they are introducing a new version with a black wear-resistant Tungsten DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for extra performance. The locking system is the Hawk-Lock® developed by Grant and Gavin Hawk. It is a very interesting locking system that really functions as both a lock and a minimal assist to the Flipper opening. It opens using the ambidextrous Flipper system or the three thumbstuds on the blade. Use the thumbstuds for one hand opening and it works like any other non-assisted one hand opener. Use the Flipper and you will detect a very slight assist to the opening. Very interesting.

The handle is anodized 6061-T6 aluminum with textured black G-10 overlays for grip. The 3-1/8" clip point blade is Sandvik 14C28N at 58-60 Rc. and is available either with a plain edge or combo edge. Measures 4-1/4" closed and weighs approximately 3.8 oz. Made in the U.S.A. Suggested retail is $109.95.
