The original Stingray, one of the first folders SOG® produced, was a heavy-duty knife. The Stingray 2.0 and 3.0 represent the next generation. SOG decided to keep the thick blade stock of the original (a full 1/8"), but stepped up to San Mai steel, a VG-10 core at 59-60 Rc. laminated 420J2 on either side. With a 2-7/8" Bowie style blade, these are just as tough as the original but with added class including an abalone set thumb stud and either a Carbon-fiber handle inlay or, for a sleeker look, a Mother-of-Pearl inlay. The Mother-of-Pearl is limited to 1000 pieces. Measures 3-5/8" closed and weighs 3.2 oz. Made in Japan. Suggested retail is $290.00 for the carbon fiber and $300.00 for the pearl.
