When we asked Matt Conable why they decided to add this very different style knife to the William Henry line, this is the response we received. We have decided to take it direct from the horse's mouth. "The E6 (which still needs a name) came from my desire to continue to create fine USING pocketknives as part of the William Henry brand.

Pikatti is an Eskimo word meaning companion, an appropriate name for a small knife that was designed as a faithful tool to help with everyday tasks. Seiichi Nakamura spent his life as an engineer and in retirement designs and produces small Japanese style folders and gentleman's folders. As far as I can determine, this is the first instance in which one of his designs has been manufactured by an American company. Just last year we offered a Nakamura folder from Kershaw, but that knife was produced by a small factory in Japan.

First fossilized Mammoth Ivory and then Mammoth Tooth became very desirable for knife handles. Over the past few years, we have seen a few handmade knifemakers use Mammoth Bone. This material varies widely in its appearance because bone starts out very absorbent and easily picks up color from the minerals in the soil where it has laid for thousands of years. Unlike ivory, which will usually have color on the surface (bark), Mammoth Bone will have absorbed the color through the entire thickness.

The B5 Chardonnay is the first ever offering of a William Henry button lock built as an interframe. It was designed and built exclusively for A. G. Russell customers.

The Benchmade Levitator® locking system utilizes the handle scale/liner to create a spring that leverages a lock-pin in and out of a notch in the tang of the blade. This system locks the blade securely in both the open and closed positions

Those of you who are familiar with Allen Elishewitz's web site of exquisite custom knives will know that the new production CRKT Pharaoh is very different from Allen's custom Pharaoh. Sorry for any confusion, but this is a unique design that incorporates many of Allen's themes well deserving of the title "king." You will look very hard to find a production knife in this price class that is anything like the Pharaoh, so it does stand a bit larger than life.
