The Vapyr™ is part of Benchmade's Bugout series. That series has been one of Benchmade's® most popular knife models for almost a decade.
But this one is completely different. While the profile is the same, the Vapyr™ has been completely reengineered. It proves that you don't have to choose between weight and performance. The thickness of the closed knife, and therefore the weight, has been reduced by 33%. The thinner profile and the MagnaCut® stainless steel blade delivers strength, durability and edge retention far beyond what you would expect of an untralight folder. The handle sides are black Aluminum with a surface pattern for advanced grip and control. The blade is Cerakote® coated in a stealthy black. The ambidextrous thumbstuds and the back spacer are Taiga Green.
The locking mechanism is Benchmade's new take on the AXIS® lock, eliminating steel liners and omega springs, and subbing in a sleek new lock stud and torsion spring assembly. The 3-1⁄4" drop point blade is MagnaCut stainless at 60-62 Rc. The black stainless steel pocket clip is reversible for left or right-handed tip-up carry. Measures 4-1⁄4" closed. Weighs only 1.7 oz. Made in the U.S.A.
